The award winning CP Group underlined its position as the innovator in the UK tile industry with a unique stand at the inaugural Tile & Stone Show.
Abandoning the traditional approach of displaying its latest designs, the company instead showcased the cutting edge technology and techniques it employs at its multi-million pound Brighouse factory.
Designed to challenge the traditional perception of tiles and underline their limitless decorative potential, the stand featured a variety of installations constructed entirely from tiles including a glass fish tank, padded leather wall, sheepskin rug and stylish art gallery and bar area.
Product Manager, Jayne Adamson, explains: “We wanted the stand to be a living, breathing embodiment of what we do and what can be achieved through our modern manufacturing techniques.
“While at one level presenting finished designs is an effective way to demonstrate our work to potential customers, it only captures a fraction of our capabilities. By presenting visitors with the techniques instead we encouraged them to think outside the box and to explore new possibilities rather than being constrained by set designs.”
The stand, which showcased digital transfer technology, water jet cutting, moulded resin, handpainting, screenprinting and designer glass, proved to be a major hit with an endless stream of customers clamouring to meet the CP Group’s design experts over the three days.
Adds Adamson: “We want people to view our service as a way of interpreting their biggest and boldest design ideas, reinforcing the role tiles can play in show stopping residential and commercial developments.
“Historically tiles have been viewed as a practical rather than decorative solution and the poor relation to wallpaper and paint. In reality, thanks to the latest manufacturing technology and techniques, their design potential is a powerful untapped reserve and our stand challenged people to explore and fully understand the opportunities now available to them.”
